Wasn’t crazy, just the only way I could get the training in electronics that I wanted. Surface fleet training consisted of “black box” (find the bad module, then change it out and ship it off for repair) training instead of component level repair that I wanted.

Got a lot more than I anticipated, like joining a fraternity of brothers whose history goes back to the War of Independence.

I have no regrets.
