Sigh…really simple, between 1.0% and almost 3% of any given generation is going to be gay depending on what part of the world you live in. Science still has not shown a conclusive cause even after hundreds of genetic studies and hundreds more that dealt with enviroment and upbringing.

Studies on twins “suggest” that their “might” be a genetic component but have the problem that typically twins are also raised identically and in the same enviroment. So far the causes of natural attraction to the same sex remain elusive and hypothetical.

I really don’t need to know, I accept that some males are attracted to males just as much as I am atrracted to females and the same applies to some females who are attracted to others of their sex. The ONLY thing that makes this “evil” is adherence to certain outdated and basically irrelevant religious prohibitions.

They don’t have to “pass on their genes” they are just born, hell it wasn’t even possible for them to actually pass on their genes at all until just a couple of decades ago when invitro fertilization came along.

People are gay, or not, get over it already.

The question has been, if there is a genetic component, why is gayness so prevalent in the human gene pool? Some of the theories that have been come up with on that, one of which I think cliffster linked to—link went wrong for me—are really interesting from a human evolutionary perspective.
