Russia may be over-playing their cards. They have enjoyed their choke hold on the EU energy supply and thought it secure, now with the developments in shale gas it looks like Poland will emerge the winner and Russia the loser.

Interesting coincidence that the twin was on his way to renegotiate Poland’s gas supply price with Russia when the plane crashed. The shale formation extends into Britain, so this could be a game changer for the UK as well.

And possibly for the US and Canada as well. Both nation’s have put a great deal of research into extracting shale oil and gas. Ludwig may have some thoughts on this as well.
