In the long run, we are not going to get the country onto an even keel unless we BOTH eliminate the deficit AND pay down the national debt to a very small fraction of what it is now.

Probably it will take a constitutional amendment to accomplish this.

Meanwhile our freedom of action as a nation is being eroded by our profligacy.

No politician will say this.

A leader would say this however.

I’ve been saying it for two years… kleptocracy, plutocracy and you add a wonder word… profligacy… all children of the same concept.

But there is a bigger problem, not only will politicians, of either side, admit that this is what our government has become, you damn well can be sure that certain partisan citizens would never cop to this either. Not when all that theft is of such a benefit to some people… figure it out.
