This is so sad, not the picture, which is AWESOME, but the whole damned thing. What in the hell is wrong with girls being educated? Haven’t studies and examples shown over and over and over that having educated women and girls is actually better for a country than not?

These assholes need to be stopped. It’s 2014, not 1014. It’s enough already. I hope they find these girls soon, and that they haven’t been hurt too badly (though I shudder to think what’s really been happening, I think we all know what).

Educated women and girls are good for a country and good for the planet, unless by ‘good’ you mean ‘an aid to highly profitable corruption through patriarchy’. It’s horrible that this kidnapping is very profitable to the terrorists who did it, and probably profitable to the government officials who looked the other way until it was too late.
