I would agree with you that our society at large doesn’t glorify people like roeder- very true.

However, in the sub-culture of these types of militant fundamentalists- he is a hero- obviously, because they’re trying to raise funds for him. In that sense, they are similar. Especially in the area of repressing women. I can’t help but note the similarities, and reject both.

As long as the stay a SUB-culture.

Otherwise, I agree with you about the similarities.
