Folks in that category reflexively support any nation that the U.S. is at odds with, Iran the more so, since there’s been a threat hanging in the air for years that we might make a military move against them.

ANSWER will openly defend the regime, but even with them, it’s based more on the belief that the United States and Friends are worse than anything else. It’s the same crap we used to see with the Soviets.

Anti-imperialism continues to be the Left’s biggest folly: It never runs out of evil empires to praise that are in opposition to the contemporarily dominating empire.
