My favorite campaign:

The party is approached by an agent of the throne seeking brave adventurers. He wants the party to go recruit the guys he has in mind because the party is just a bunch of scrubs.

A year later, the party is approached to go on an expedition to find out what happened to the first group of guys.

Good times.

It makes my brain hurt a little bit, but I love the concept.
