The Russians have been selling seats on the soyuz to rich folks for years. What’s the point of owning your own space ships if you can’t ride on one? Space tourism is one of his goals so it also demonstrates his confidence in his own product. I have issues with Bezos, but this ain’t one of them.

He is auctioning off a seat to go up with him, and the last known bid was nearly $3 million.
