Arafat’s uncle, the Haj of Jerusalem, was a close personal buddy of Hitler’s. The Ba’ath Parties in the Middle East were founded by the Gestapo to combat British interests there. Those parties, however, were more nationalist and secular than religious. It’s no surprise that an escaping Nazi could find refuge there. I just wonder how many more there are?

I believe you mean the Mufti of Jerusalem.
