John McCain is just being your average wind-socky pol when he denies his “maverickiness”.

John McCain is a befuddled old man. He’s lost his intellectual edge (or what intellectual edge he used to have), and is now just a reactionary politician trying to keep as many primary voters happy as he can. What he doesn’t realize, and probably won’t ever, is that if he’d just stood his ground and said ‘screw the teabaggers’, he’d probably have coasted through this primary unscathed. Now he just looks like he’s three steps away from standing at an intersection waving at traffic.
