Sure. I may not know the answer, but I’ll give it a shot :-)

Here goes: I just found my Applegate-Fairbairn combat folder (this version is made by Gerber) that I thought I had mis-placed. The blade is a dull as a butter knife and is showing a little rust. I have DMT diamond sharpening stones but am having a hell of a time getting a decent edge. I confess that I have little experience honing blades and this could have something to do with it. Any suggestions, books, other resources … ?
