Except, of course, when they send church elders to thousands of Mormon families to pressure them into donating thousand and thousand of dollars to pay for TV ad campaigns in California that scare parents into thinking that gays are going to butt rape their children and make them into little queers as well if they let gay men and women get married.

Ummm political?…… that amendment was approved by liberals and conservatives alike……

I think it was their perceived fight (and right) to protect a basic moral tenet taught in their church according to their teachings.
