Hello Bobibutu - why are some of us in the pits? Surely not because the Stimulus Bill passed?! There was never any doubt that SOME *cough* stimulus bill was going to pass once Specter, Collins and Snowe made their votes known the first time around. Look at it this way, we’ve only burdened our great grandkids (hopefully) with paying this bill off - which was estimated by Al-Reuters as 38% stimulus, only 42% pork non-stimulus!

I honestly think it was going to pass regardless of them. They got shoved forward to negotiate and take the blows simply because they could take the heat with their constituent base. The other Republicans couldn’t. Call me a cynic, but I think of it as skeptic. There’s too much pork without the individual spotlight and heat for most pols to pass up.
