Phobias are such interesting things. My dad has a very strong fear of heights, to the extent that he doesn’t like to see other people standing on a high place, that scares him too. My brothers and I all lack a fear of heights, and even enjoy it, and I wonder if it came from just messing with dad as kids by seeking out high places.

Pretty much always been afraid of heights. According to my mother, I became afraid of spiders due to one high-strung babysitter. And I’m afraid of drowning because of an incident when I was at a lake and went out farther than I could swim.
