My mom’s mom kept a can of bacon grease next to the stove. When my grandfather would come home with his catch of fish, she’d filet them, bread them with cracker crumbs and milk, and fry them in the bacon grease. My mom to this day refuses to prep fresh fish because of how many times she’d watch her mom clean them.
