Once again, The AFA quoted a passage in the Bible. They themselves did not literally say the whale should be stoned, they said it should be killed, which is different. And to be honest, saying the whale should be put down is not unreasonable. Wrong maybe, but not unreasonable.

It urges us to follow the “counsel of the Judeo-Christian tradition” and then quotes the “ancient civil code of Israel” which commands stoning the animal to death. Are they saying we should follow the code or not? It is the whole idea of following scriptural advice on such ‘practical matters’ that is unreasonable here. And killing that whale given the circumstances would be both wrong and unreasonable, IMO.
