They should drop the guise of them being students and simply hire them to play for the school team as professionals in what is in effect the “minor leagues” for the NFL. They could retain the option of returning to the school and completing their degrees at a later date.

I’ve been saying that for ages. College football is the biggest load of bullshit out there. These kids go out there, make billions of dollars for these universities. Why not just pay the kids outright and let them come back later to finish school? It would make more sense.
