Unfortunately minors have very limited legal recourse in self defense. Federal law prohibits those under 21 from buying handguns and 18 from buying long guns. While they can be given by parents, laws are extremely strict. She could possibly legally own pepper spray depending on RI’s laws.

Frankly, If I were her parents I’d have hire an armed bodyguard for her until she is legally old enough to CCW. There are just too many RWNJ’s out there.

Yet another (alas) good reason for a liberal to be armed in modern America.

RI doesn’t have restrictions on percussion cap black powder handguns. She could buy a reproduction revolver.
