Not just think tanks. Groups and committees that commission studies—any organization which “sponsors” research.

I understand about peer review—I’ve asked the question in depo of experts about their reports. Some have had the gall to say that they would. Other have become patronizing.

The point is that it has happened so much— that the impartiality of the opinions have been called into question so many times—that people are reluctant to accept the verdict of science.

As a physicist, you’re fortunate to work in a discipline with absolutes. The rest of us aren’t so lucky.
