I understand— and given my exposure to science, I have seen how data can be manipulated. My first thought is the fight between Rachel Carson and the folks at Dow over DDT— and as I understand it, there is still no clear consensus on that issue.

Well, here’s the thing. Science said that unregulated use of DDT resulted in eggshell thinning among primary predator fish eating raptors (Bald Eagles and Ospreys), leading to huge population crashes. When DDT was removed from the environment, those populations recovered. That’s a real QED.
