AFAIK, they CAN’T cover Trump. The RNC is set up as a fundraiser for the GOP. All the money they raise goes to elections across the country, not to pay legal bills.

I don’t recall the DNC covering Clinton’s bills after he was impeached. In fact, I think it took him and Hillary a few years to pay off all the lawyers.
