re: #85 Romantic Heretic

I finally got an answer from the purity pony Iā€™ve been ā€˜debatingā€™ about voting third party.

Heā€™s voting third party, he claims, to ā€˜send a message about corruptionā€™. Rolled my eyes so hard I saw my brain.

R candidate in Purity Precinct: 732 votes
D candidate in Purity Precinct: 497 votes
Purity voters: 25 votes. 30 didnā€™t vote at all.

Ballot proposition A: Preserve abortion rights fails by 15 votes.
Ballot proposition B: Defund the public library. Passes by 15 votes.

Message sent was what exactly?

Or in my village where enough people voted against me to put in the R/neo-Nazi candidate in 2018. The message they were trying to send me was ā€œyouā€™re not a Christian.ā€ Lost by three votes, automatic state recount confirmed it.

I still want to know who the Green Party voters were here in 2020 who cast three total votes for Dr. Jill Stein (she qualified by petition since we have no Green Party here), or the eight Libertarian votes for Gary Johnson.

All eleven of those votes must have sent one helluva message to -uh- someone? The Stein voters here are apparently too embarrassed by that.

The only ā€œmessageā€ I can see such a voter sending is bragging to others that theyā€™re not beholden to ā€œthe Duopoly.ā€ They certainly arenā€™t sending a message to either major party.
