Zuckerman has commercial reasons to have tried to justify support for Obama. The NY Daily News has become the paper for the proletariate especially for the black community. It is far more generally read than the fringe Amsterdam News. THe Post has a far smaller readership among blacks and is more willing to challenge racial PC shibboleths. For Zuckerman to break with Obama, given that he is a much smaller player than Murdoch of the Post’s Newscorp, is a brave act that can cripple the News in the long run.
