Before the 2007 season, you could question Manning’s fortitude and abilities, but after that Super Bowl run, you couldn’t question whether he could get the job done. This season has solidified his skills and shown that he can get it done under the worst conditions. He had to start with a new WR corps, injuries and changes to the O-line, and yet put up the best numbers ever by a Giants QB. NFL record for TDs in 4th quarter.

He’s gone from having an the look of a deer in the headlights to one of the cold stare of an assassin picking apart defenses. It’s been remarkable to watch, and to see how the WR corps has turned into the one of the premier trios in the league (and the Giants were never known for their WRs). Now, if you blink, they’re in the end zone on another 60+ yard jaunt.

Their running backs aren’t quite getting it done as other Giant teams have done, but they helped ice the game yesterday. And the defense got opportunistic yesterday (and should have gotten one or two other turnover calls, turning things into a complete blowout). Right now, the Giants think that they can’t be beat, and that’s a good place to be. It starts with Eli, and now with the defense clicking, they’re going to be tough, even on the road (again).
