I suspect it was because he said the voter law has everything to do with “kicking Democrats in the butt” or words to that effect. The GOP couldn’t give a shit if someone associated with the party spews racism.

Spewing racism on TV or the radio where it can be recorded and used against the party? I assure the North Carolina state Republican party cares about THAT. The partisan comment about the voter ID didn’t help, but it was the racism that got the chump dumped.
