I have a Libertarian “friend” who is upset that Fauci told people they don’t need masks at the beginning so assholes wouldn’t buy up the masks that medical personnel needed.

I’ve a “rational conservative” friend whose insistence is that if Dr. Fauci had just “told the truth” about masks, then people wouldn’t be so mad at him right now. As though telling the public that the only masks worth a damn were medical-grade ones, but that the supply was limited and needed to be reserved for hospitals and caretakers only would have stopped the public from hoarding.
