No, such people are not that common. Most of them are well meaning, but badly misinformed. Some of them simply see Obama in a bad light because the economy isn’t doing well.

High stress levels contribute to people accepting the most comfortable explanation that requires the least thinking. Ideas that do not buck confirmation bias add the least extra stress.
