We need a new neologism: “Kyling”. As to miss a factual statement by at least 87%, then claim it was not meant as a factual statement, and then alter the record to cover it up.

Kyling (verb):

1. To go to elaborate lengths to cover up your own stupidity by compounding it.

2. To completely forget that the Internet Age has made such cover ups practically impossible.
