Honestly, I don’t even feel the need to dig too deep into a single poll. It’s a single poll. When we see more than one out of dozens with this sort of result, I’ll give it more than thirty seconds of attention. Same deal with a poll that IIRC put Obama up something like seven points last week. Outliers happen.

Problem is that the media and RCP are treating the outliers like the main event, while the more consistent polls are being either downplayed or outright rejected. Catch the beginning of NBC Nightly News tonight and they were practically drooling over the Pew Poll, then brought up the Gallup poll showing Obama’s lead back to 5 points as if it was the outlier.
