How about conservatives quit fetishizing veterans. Poor people often need help, whether they are veterans or not.

I finally got around to burning my Audible credit. I just started Rick Perlstein’s “The Invisible Bridge” and I was unaware of the absurd fetishization of the returned Vietnam POWs (although I was already all-too-aware of the malignant contempt with which other veterans who, by and large, didn’t enjoy the privileges of rank and status that the downed Pilots had, were treated by the Right who couldn’t wrap them in flags as easily).
