LOL, the insane lens Kubrick used in Barry Lindon. Only ever utilized by him and NASA.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: I miss that perfectionist Bronx boy.

I miss maestro Fellini as well. His best work imho was photographed by the late and truly great Tonino Delli Colli, who also performed wonders with Sergio Leone. Magicians they were, and it was mostly in camera! I don’t believe Fellini or Leone ever had a matte shot. Not that it would be a bad thing, I love mattes, particularly the painted glass matte shots perfected by old Hollywood.
