Comparisons to the every creeping Christmas shopping season in the US are one of the reasons my idea would not go over well. It would probably also be viewed as turning Mecca into a kind of sacrilegious Disneyland / tourist commodity. Anyway, I can’t find anybody else putting forth my idea seriously, which tells me how unlikely it is to fly.
