This could go both ways, the Democratic Party could need the support of the youth who supported Sanders.

Last thing they need to inspire in animosity by mockery.

Two things.
1. Most of the animosity has been coming from Bernie’s supporters.
2. Young people are notoriously unreliable in elections. Most of the time, they can’t be bothered to vote and when they do, it’s only for PotUS. They generally sit out midterms.
