re: #89 Dopamine Fish

When I was in the later years of high school, I started playing with a Red Hat Linux setup. I went through a phase in college where I literally threw every operating system on my box that I could conceivably get running, but eventually settled on dual-booting Windows (for gaming performance) and Gentoo Linux. I’ve had a few issues over the decades, but it’s worth noting that before last fall, this computer had lain dormant in my desk since 2016, and I was able to clean out the dust and fire it up and upgrade it to the latest packages and kernel without too many issues.

The kid set up our two main machines for dual-boot. The only times we use Windows are for Civ4, Quicken taxes once a year, and to drive Wife’s weird stencil-cutting machine. Wife has actually moved most of her daily online stuff to iPads.
