I was never so happy as when Reagan won in 1980 and made Mr. Carter redundant. I felt like the campaign Carter ran was much like the Obama campaign with lots of smoke but no substance. I hated the way he diminished our stature on the world stage.
His son Chip, visited my college during the campaign. I was not impressed by him either. Isn’t sad when cousins marry?
