Our favorite: A night in a nearby hotel. Drive enough to make it worth it, but not too long. Let the kids jump on the beds, swim in the pool, eat the disgusting free breakfast… fun times.

I happen to love those big fat waffles from the places that have waffle irons as part of their breakfast bar.
