Back when Nixon was President, he damn near caused a mistrial for Charlie Manson. He made some remark about Charlie being guilty and a creep and it made the headlines. Somehow Manson got a copy and walked into court parading it in front of the jury. Since then Presidents have been unusually circumspect about commenting about individual legal matters. Apparently Barack has yet to pass President 101 class.
