No, Barack was supported by the lunatics in the party. He represented what he thought was a mildly left of center position, a newcomer. He was pushed over the top by the fringe though, that can not be argued, there were many nights where I lurked here and the posts were all chuckles about how the fringe was going to be his downfall.

Hillary didn’t excite the fringe, Barack did.

The fringe is bad, my point is that the right wing usually ignores the fringe (I know, except for abortion) and in that way the right loses elections.

The right needs to move a little center in things social.
