Living in a democracy means sometimes the other guy wins.

You don’t call for armed insurrection because you lost an election. This kind of talk is becoming far too common on the right, — it is appearing even on mainstream outlets — and it has consequences.

I’m choosing to interpret your remarks as hyperbole and as an abstract philosophical discussion, with no intent on your part to apply to today’s situation— and certainly not as a serious suggestion.

I can’t speak for Tatterdemalian, but I don’t really see how “interpretation” is called for here. The remarks in question are neither “hyperbole”, “abstract”, nor “serious suggestion”, and it is left to the reader to decide for themselves whether there is applicability to “today’s situation”.

As to your more general sermonizing, I’m not going to defend any “pitchfork” rhetoric, but I do refer you to the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence for a timely review of the general principles that should be at play here.
