Okay, here’s a dumb question. I know what a “sock puppet” is, but how do they exist? If Charles bans someone, doesn’t he ban their computer from accessing the site no matter what name/password they use? Do people actually use different/new computers to be a “sock”?

As far as I know, Charles only very rarely enacts computer-level bans. He mostly just bans usernames unless a person has a proven track record of sock puppetry.
