These are human beings. Lives. And never once have I heard any argument about the supposed harm that can even remotely explain the very real, very present harm that is being done to these people every day. The sick hatred that it perpetuates is disgusting and no, I don’t have to ‘tolerate’ intolerance by allowing it to be codified into law.

You know, in over a decade of arguing this (and other things) on an archery/bowhunting forum, I STILL do not get why it is SO FUCKING IMPORTANT to them. I even joke “Do you suppose gay men sit around online discussing Bowhunters?”

I have never understood it, but there is something visceral in the response - hatred, fear, whatever. And they obsess on the mechanics of gay sex - “Do you know what they do to each other?” And of course, this leads inevitably to “You must be gay!”

I wish I knew what their issue is. They claim, of course, that it’s Biblical, but they don’t post thread after thread about the evils of adultery, or shellfish, so it’s pretty clear they simply use the Bible to make their hatred not only okay, but actually GOOD.
