And that’s one big reason why the Republican Party is melting down and losing big.

It looks like the creationists in the party aren’t going to shut up and keep their idiotic knuckle-dragging views to themselves. If they keep asserting themselves like this, I think the Republican Party will be forced to split into two parties, comprised of the 60% who believe in young-Earth creationism, and the 40% who believe in modern science. And both of those parties will be powerless at the national level.

Maybe it’s time for the 40% to split off now, while they still have a chance to recruit a few sane friends from the ranks of the Democratic party to join them.
