I posted this on the DT, so some might find this interesting.
I have seen some posts to this effect. I haven’t paid much attention to them, not because I necessarily think they’re wrong, just because I don’t think they’re particularly relevant.
Here is a transcript from Wolf Blitzer’s interview of Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill. An excerpt:
Blitzer: Mr. MacAskill, did Al Megrahi kill 270 people?MacAskill: Yes. He was convicted by a Scottish court.
Blitzer: Did he do so in cold blood?
MacAskill: Absolutely.
If information has come to light casting doubt on Al Megrahi’s guilt, then he should be re-tried and perhaps set free. If not, then he should rot in jail for the rest of his life. His sentence should not be altered for any reason without a retrial.
