We (globally) seem to have too much faith in strongly worded letters and condemnations. It’s like arguing with a mad dog. Not gonna have any effect.

It’s not so much faith but that unless one is prepared to go and interfere directly then condemnations are the only thing you can do.

Condemnations can work to a point if they have leverage behind them, like money and other economic influence. If that isn’t present then it’s just pissing into the wind really.
