I have two brothers. We slept in an added-on room in our house. No heat.

If it was 25 degrees outside? 30 degrees in the room.

Was nothing un-manly about spooning. It was a way to survive.

My husband and I once went on a big camping trip in Arizona in the early spring.

He went down with a friend, and I drove with the friend’s girlfriend.

We got stopped in the mountains for a while, because snow had closed the road.

We got in about two or three AM. Went and found the guys.

We had all the bedding with us, but they had put up separate tents, and were freezing in separate tents, wearing all the clothes they had.

I asked why they hadn’t gotten under the blanket they had together and shared body heat. They looked at me like I was insane.
