It’s one thing for Z to keep his mouth shut about the donation money and quite another suggesting his lawyer would intentionally lie to the judge about the passport.

OK, the passport issue seems to be moot. Z and the lawyer claim that they found the passport when they were cleaning up the house and gave it to the lawyer who apparently forgot about it for a month. This would explain both the stolen pass claim and the fact that he didn’t surrender the pass. (At this time, at least.)
