re: #859 redstateredneck
I know I had to practically quit drinking when I gave up smoking.
Believe it or not, this is the reason why I support bans on smoking in bars and restaurants. When I was a non-smoker I didn’t care; when I was (briefly) a smoker I wanted the opportunity to smoke in those places…as an exsmoker now, I know the only times that I really have to struggle with the urge to start again is there.
Banning smoking in bars and restaurants is a good policy, IMO, not just because of the secondhandsmoke issue but because it helps smokers to quit and most of all, helps those who have quit to stay quit.
