Exactly. I don’t understand why people are pretending like bannings happen by accident or over one incident. It’s pretty damned hard to get banned unless you work at it when you’re a regular. Conversely, it’s pretty damned easy to avoid it: don’t be a tool.

We’ve had something similar before; people who act jekyll/hyde on the internet. People who wind up over at the stalker blog have made a conscious choice to go All Hyde All the Time.
This always affects the community and upsets people. But it shouldn’t be blamed on the people on whom Mr Hyde went all Hyde while he was still here.

You can usually see it coming, and I always assume some real life issues in the persons life are overwhelming them. It is generally a good idea to remember that if you only know someone from their internet postings, you don’t really know them.

People who wind up at the stalkers have somehow completely lost normal perspective. It is usually tied to some notion of ‘defending their LGF identity’ (!!) which is why they will continue on having imaginary conversations with people over here, and Charles, for literally years.

I have found the singling out of one individual most interesting. Similarly I found my “welcome” to LGF to be quite remarkable. Icy hostility based on clichs might sum it up. What was missed was that the attacks on me as a completely new member totally missed the essence of what I tried to communicate about myself. That is I am a Pagan, a Witch specifically. While I am not willing to discuss my specific tradition in this sort of extraordinarily hostile group you may go to this site for a pretty accurate description of my beliefs and practice.

For the more hostile and negativistic of you I leave this blessing and this curse.

May Brigid of the holy waters bless you and give you the burden of compassion and of understanding. May you use these gifts to help those around you.

Now I stand on my left foot, point my left hand at the angriest and cruelest among you and look to you through my left eye and I say to you. May the Morrigan’s dark wing shade you and quiet your hatred. I place the curse upon you that you shall always feel the pain of those you afflict.

I say this as Crow.
