German didn’t spring forth from the vacuum. Like all languages, it has a long, tangled history. ‘Schmuck’ is firmly planted in the German language; attempting to claim it isn’t German by citing even deeper origins is stupid and pointless, and attempt to move the goalposts into a whole other county. Had someone claimed ‘schmuck’ was of Polish origin, you would then foolishly claim that no, he was wrong, and chase it even further into some even more distant Indo-European root, and beyond if necessary.

Meanwhile, back here in reality, ‘schmuck’ is solidly ensconced in the German language, making your claim so much dreck.

look, schmuck may look german because of its spelling, but it is rooted in polish and slavic language. here:
